The latest versions have an HDMI connector for connecting to monitors and televisions, as well as an SD card slot for photographers. It also has a MagSafe magnetic connector, which is a feature that was popular on earlier MacBooks. Users may continue to charge using the USB-C ports, three of which enable Thunderbolt connections.

It is available in 16-inch and 14-inch versions, with denser displays and ProMotion screens with a faster refresh rate, a feature that debuted on the iPhone 13 earlier this year. According to Apple, the screens use MiniLED technology.

The price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999. The 16-inch model starts at $2,499, a modest price increase over prior versions, however, the price can rise if consumers customize their laptops with additions. They will be available for pre-order on Monday, October 25th, 2021, and will hit shop shelves later that week.

According to an Apple video released on Monday, the display has a notch cutout at the top of the screen for its cameras. Apple reduced the size of the bezels and stated that its software will “wrap” the top menu bar around the camera, which protrudes into the screen.

The notch, however, does not appear to hold Apple’s Face ID face recognition camera, as it does on iPhones. According to Apple, the front-facing camera can record 1080p video and has been enhanced for greater image quality.

The latest versions lack a Touch Bar display on the keyboard but do have a fingerprint sensor in the power button.

According to Apple, the 14-inch devices can play video for 14 hours while the 16-inch models can play video for 21 hours. According to Apple, both models charge to 50% in 30 minutes.
