Yoram Gross’ Son: Who Is Guy Gross And What Does He Do Now?

Guy Gross is a multi-award-winning Australian film and television composer best known as the son of popular Polish-Australian film producer, Yoram Jerzy Gross.

Guy Gross is also known for writing the award-winning music for the Australian science fiction series Farscape and the international hit film, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Guy Gross was born to film producers Sandra and Yoram Gross. He studied classical composition at the Conservatorium High School in Sydney, Australia and had begun film scoring while he was there. Guy Gross composed music for the family animation business in High School.

Guy Gross scored his first feature film, “Frauds” which was directed by Stephan Elliott at the age of 26. With about 76 credits as a screen composer, Guy has also composed for the animated television series Blinky Bill and Dumb Bunnies. 

Guy Gross was a partner and a director of Australian film music and audio recording centre named Trackdown Digital from 2003 to 2015. He is now part of the Church Street Studios collective located in Sydney’s inner-city which he had helped set up in 2015. From 2012 to 2017, he served as President of the Australian Guild of Screen Composers.

Guy Gross was an APRA Ambassador and recipient of the APRA/AGSC International Achievement Award. He has guest lectured at the AFTRS (Australian Film, Radio and Television School) and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
