On August 4th, 2021, Glasnow completed a successful Tommy John procedure, according to Robert Murray on Twitter. Murray has stated that Glasnow is expected to be out for the full 2022 season.

Glasnow, 27, was cleared to pitch off the mound for the first time, but his elbow continued to bother him.

Glasnow was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Rays on June 15 due to a UCL and flexor strain. Prior to his injury, he had a 2.66 ERA in 88 innings pitched, with 123 strikeouts.

After feeling tightness and “a little tug” in his right elbow during his last start against the White Sox on June 14, Glasnow received an MRI in Chicago. In the Rays’ 5-2 victory, he left the game after the fourth inning.
