Nigerian rapper, Ladipoe has lost his first BET Hip Hop award to UK rapper, Little Simz last night, 5th October 2021.

The award show honored top hip hop artistes and performers around the world last night as the show aired on BET, MTV2 and other channels. Ladipoe was the only Nigerian act who was nominated for this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards.
He was nominated in the BET Best International Flow Award category which had other nominees like;

- Little Simz (United Kingdom)
He lost to Little Simz from the United Kingdom. Little Simz is a female UK Grime and Hip Hop artiste who has been considered by many as one of the most sought-after UK rappers of her generation.
One of her most popular songs is Venom. The song has been featured on many platforms. It became popular on TikTok as one of the soundtracks for transitions.
The first winner (2019) of the Best International Flow category is Sarkodie from Ghana, and so far, he is the only African rapper to win that category. In 2020, Stormzy (UK), became the next winner. Simz has become the second winner from the UK and third in general.
