SASSA Payment Dates For October 2021

Sassa began the process of suspending social benefits to 177,108 public employees earlier this month, with the exception of foster care payments.

Lindiwe Zulu, the Minister of Social Development, said public employees will have to verify their eligibility for the payouts soon.

The child support grant, disability grant, and grant for the elderly were all paid out.

“Sassa has spent about R200.7 million (paid in July 2021) on compensating public service workers who sought for and received Sassa administered grants,” Zulu added.

The SASSA grant payment dates for October 2021 have been released, just in time as we approach the end of September and the beginning of October.

The SASSA grant payment dates for October are:

 

• Older Person’s Grants 5 October 2021

• Disability Grants 6 October 2021

• Foster Care Grants 7 October 2021
• Care Dependency Grants 7 October 2021
• Child Support Grants 7 October 2021

As for the Covid-19 Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, SASSA has said, “There is no fixed payment date for the special COVID-19 SRD grant”.
