Wizkid Bags 6 Nominations At AFRIMA Awards 2021

Grammy award winner, Wizkid has bagged one of the highest number of nominations at the 2021 African Music Awards (AFRIMA).

Wizkid has been nominated in six (6) categories, making him the most nominated Nigerian artiste in this year’s awards. He was nominated in the following categories;

• Song of the Year – ‘Essence’ (featuring Tems)
• Album of the Year – Made In Lagos
• Artiste of the Year
• Best African Collaboration – ‘Essence’ (featuring Tems)
• Best Male Artiste in West Africa
• Best Duo in Africa R&B – ‘Essence’ (featuring Tems)

In his entire career, Wizkid has been nominated for thirteen (13) AFRIMA awards and has won just four (4) of them. In 2015, he lost all five (5) categories he was nominated for. However, he came back in 2017 to win all three  (3) categories he was nominated for; Artiste of the Year, Best West African Artiste, and Song of the Year awards.

Wizkid is also a three-time BET award winner and a one-time Grammy award winner.
