Rachel Maddow is an American television news program host and liberal political commentator. She was born on April 1, 1973, in Castro Valley, California, US. She is the daughter of Robert B. Maddow and Elaine.

Rachel earned a degree in policy at Stanford in 1994. At her graduation, she was awarded the John Gardner Fellowship. She was also the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship and began her post-graduate study in 1995 at Lincoln College, Oxford.

Maddow’s first job as a radio host was in 1999 at WRNX (100.9fm) in Holyoke, Massachusetts, then home to The Dave in the Morning Show. In October 2018, she launched the podcast, Big Man, produced with MSNBC and focusing on the 1973 political scandal Vice president, Spiro Agnew.
