It has been announced that the sequel to one of Nollywood’s popular movies ‘Aki and Pawpaw,’ will be released soon. Originally dubbed ‘Aki na Ukwa,’ the film was released in 2003 and starred popular actors, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze who gradually became very popular.

Earlier today, Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) posted a video with his counterpart Osita Iheme (Pawpaw) and announced that there will soon be a sequel to the 2003 movie. In the video, the two were seen in a car that was set up for filming; it had cameras at the window sides and windshield. There were also a few crew members around to ensure smooth filming.
“The stage is all set,” Aki remarked.

‘Aki and Pawpaw’ is a comedy film directed by Amayo Uzo Philips. It was the first collaboration between the two actors, which ushered them into countless collaborations in several movies afterwards. Their performance in the movie is still widely spoken about and very much respected. Their hilarious display of characters has been commended by many people across the globe. Excerpts from their movies have been used for memes that have been featured on several international platforms. They are by far the most recognized movie duo in the history of African cinematography.
