What happened to Fez Whatley?

Fez Whatley died of a heart attack. His former co-host, Bennington, updated his fans on Whatley’s health problems on Instagram. He wrote:

“Fez had another massive heart attack this week, He flatlined on Tuesday, but was able to be revived by doctors. He spent a few days on a ventilator and is now breathing on his own.”

Heart Attack

According to Mayo Clinic, a heart attack occurs when an artery supplying your heart with blood and oxygen becomes blocked. Fatty deposits build up over time, forming plaques in your heart’s arteries. If a plaque ruptures, a blood clot can form and block your arteries, causing a heart attack.

In the United States, someone has a heart attack every 40 seconds. Every year, about 805,000 Americans have a heart attack. Of these, 605,000 are a first heart attack, according to the CDC. About 655,000 Americans die from heart disease each year—that’s 1 in every 4 deaths.
