Pamela Ashley Brown was born on November 29, 1983, in Lexington, Kentucky, to parents, John Y. Brown Jr. and Phyllis George.  Her father John is a businessman and former Governor of Kentucky while her mother is a former Miss America and businesswoman.

Pamela Brown was raised alongside an older brother, Lincoln (born 1980) and has three half-siblings from her father’s prior marriage.

Regarding her education, Pamela Brown graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington. She later graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in broadcast journalism.

Following the completion of school, she worked for ABC-affiliate WJLA-TV in Washington before moving to Senior Washington Correspondent in January 2021 where she would host three hours of CNN Newsroom on weekends.
