Euro 2020: Lewandoski Fails Poland As Skriniar Fires Slovakia To Victory

The polish have recorded a defeat in the opening match of the Euro 2020. Poland went into the Euros with their talisman, Robert Lewamdski who despite injury pushed Bayern Munich to Bundesliga champions.

The skipper broke Gerd Muller’s record of 40 goals in a season but went off today when Poland needed him the most. Milan Škriniar scored the second goal for Slovakia after Poland’s Grzegorz Krychowiak was sent off.

Grzegorz Krychowiak was sent off after being booked for the 2nd time. Karol Linetty hammered the equaliser early on in 2nd half. Wojciech Szczęsny struck his own goal to put Slovakia 1-0 ahead of Poland in the first half. Wojciech Szczęsny becomes the second player to record an own goal in the tournament after Demiral and the two play for Juventus football club.

Robert Lewandoski was rated the worst with 5/10 among the players who featured for both countries in Group E. Spain take on Sweden as the second match in Group E kick-off at 17:00 CET.
