Cheri Oteri is an American actress and comedian who was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 2000.

Cheryl Ann Oteri was born on 19th September 1962, in Upper Darby, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the USA to parents, Gaetano Thomas Oteri (CEO of a music publishing company Of Music) and Patricia Breen Oteri who is of Italian ethnicity.

Cheri Oteri’s father, Gaetano, passed away in August 2008 due to a heart attack after a physical fight with a songwriter and publishing partner, Richard Fagan.

Cheri Oteri was raised alongside three siblings including Denise, Brian and Tommy Jr. With regards to her education, she graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School. Cheri later moved to Los Angeles when she was 25 years old and had worked as a coordinator in promotions for A&M records for 4 years.

Cheri Oteri then joined up with a sketch-based comedy group, The Groundlings. She got an invitation to audition for SNL in 1995 after she performed a monologue during one of Kattan’s costume changes during a Saturday Night Live (SNL) performance meant to audition fellow Groundlings member Chris Kattan.
