Amandla Stenberg is a prominent American actress, model and singer known for her notable performance in The Hate U Give.

Amandla Stenberg was born on October 23, 1998, in Los Angeles, California, the USA to parents, Karen Brailsford (spiritual counsellor and writer) and Tom Stenberg (a businessman).

Amandla Stenberg’s mother is an African-American while her father is Danish and of part Inuit-Greenlandic ancestry). She has two older half-sisters from her father’s side. Not much is known regarding her educational background and academic qualifications.

Amandla Stenberg started her career appearing in commercials and had started doing catalog modelling shoots for Disney when she was only 4 years old. She has appeared in commercials for clients including Boeing.

Amandla Stenberg made her film debut in 2011 in the French action film ‘Columbiana’. However, she got her breakthrough at age 14, gaining international popularity for her role in the 2012 dystopian science fiction film The Hunger Games where she played the character, Rue.
