Nigerian singer, Davido, has hinted on plans to copyright his popular slang e choke very soon.

According to the jowo hitmaker, the rate at which people are using the slang in their daily conversations and on social media is getting out of hand hence, he needs to own it to ensure it is credited to his name at all times. He made this plan known in a post sighted on his Twitter page.
Davido wrote;
“Gotta get ‘e choke’ copyrighted it’s getting outta hand”.

Davido has used this slang in his recent song with Stonebwoy title, Activate. The slang which was derived not long ago has become part of the language people speak nowadays.
However, a lot of celebrities have started copyrighting their nicknames to control the ownership of the name. A few weeks ago, BBNaija star, Ka3na also copyrighted her nickname Boss lady and Erica also did the same for her name, Stargirl.
