The Federal Government has congratulated musicians, Burna Boy and Wizkid for making the country proud after they received Grammy Awards.

At the Grammy awards yesterday, Burna Boy’s Twice As Tall emerged as the winner of Album of the Best Global music Album of the Year while Wizkid’s music with Beyonce, Brown Skin Girl won the Best Music Video of the Year. This made them the first Nigerians to win a Grammy Awards.

In a statement released by the Special Assistant on Media Segun Adeyemi, the Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed described their win as a fitting reward for their persistent hard work.
He said the awards also represented a global endorsement for the Afrobeat genre of music that has propelled Nigeria’s increasing dominance of the music world.
Alhaji Mohammed expressed the hope that the clinching of the prestigious awards by the two music stars would not only spur them to greater heights but would also serve as a source of inspiration for others.
