The newly appointed director general of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has been pictured the first day at work as the first woman to ascend the throne

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is a Nigerian-American economist and international development, expert. She was confirmed at the World Trade Organization new director general on February 15, 2021. She became the first woman and an African to hold that high office.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala began her work on March 1, 2021. She was pictured while making entry into the building of the World Trade Organization. She was welcome by dignitaries of the WTO. Due to the novel covid-19, the officials were seen exchanging greetings with their elbow.

The coronavirus protocols were duly observed as few media personalities were present to observe her first day at work. The new World Trade Organization boss, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has received an apology from the Swish paper that published an article about her with sexist and racist remarks.
