3music awards, one of Ghana’s leading entertainment awards body has released the list of nominees for 2021 edition. One of the most looked up to and interesting category is the Artiste of the Year.

The awards scheme is only four years into the industry but it has been massively endorsed by the industry players. Some of those even prefer 3music Awards to Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which is regarded as the mother of all industry awards schemes in Ghana.
For the first three years, Shatta Wale, the African dancehall king and Sarkodie have won the Artiste of the Year. Shatta Wale has won it twice, 2018 and 2019 whereas Sarkodie has one it once, 2020.
The nominees for the 3Music Awards 2021 Artiste of the Year are, the reigning champion, Sarkodie, competing with Kuami Eugene, Stonebwoy, Adina Thembi, Kidi, Amg Medikal, Fameye and Gospel artiste, Diana Hamilton. The two times BET awards winner and the most decorated rapper in Africa, Sarkodie would wish to maintain his titles while the others wish to uncrown him.
