The Nigerian police force has begun arresting protesters who have come to the Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos to prevent the reopening of the toll gate.

It could be recalled that in late 2020, there was a massive protest against police brutality and Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Nigeria. The protest saw many protesters injured whereas others, unfortunately, succumbed to the attack of the military.

This brought about the closure of the Toll Gate from running its usual businesses. However, authorities have decided to reopen its business but the protesters demand justice for the affected protesters and a total change in the police force.
This has led to many people going to the lekki toll gate to prevent the reopening from happening. The police have however arrested some of the protesters who are against the reopening. Some of the arrested citizens have been put behind bars. Report indicates that popular comedian, Mr Marcaroni has also been arrested.
