South African musician, Thandiswa Mazwai, has cried out on social media as she laments the negative impact of covid-19.In a post shared, she disclosed that the musicians in the country have been shut down for 12 months. She added that it’s clear they would still go through the same mess in this new year. According to the talented songstress, some people have no money. Others have also lost the things they have built for due to financial instabilities.

To curb the spread of the virus, some preventive measures have been put in place to protect the people. Some concerts have been canceled and the musicians are not allowed to accept deals for performances.

Artists’ (eg musicians’) livelihoods have been shut down completely for the past 12 months. And it looks like another 12 months before anyone will or can go to a gig. That means artists have no money and many people are losing everything they have worked years to build.
