In a post sighted, she shared photos of herself with a lengthy caption to let her fans know what breaks her down on the internet. The mother of two made mention of the fact that she breaks down when she looks stupid on the internet. To her, she prefers to type a long caption to her post than to make videos to hear herself.

She attributed her reasons to the fact that she does not want to hear herself speaking due to her consciousness. However, she writes her caption in a way that brings out her voice.

Her caption reads:

One of my biggest fears is looking stupid on the internet. It holds me back so much. Whenever I get in front of the camera, I automatically hold back; especially if talking is involved. Sometimes I listen to myself and CRINGE- not because I said anything wrong but I’m just self-conscious, you know?

So I opted for typing out long(ish) captions- that way I can say what I want to say and connect with you all without hearing myself (LOL). I don’t edit them rigorously because I still want the tone of the caption to be chatty vibes and not super formal and retain that natural imperfection that is human.

I’m trying to learn how to love the sound of my own voice and be okay with making mistakes online and in videos that are forever because they are on that internet (& therein lies my source of anxiety).

Have you ever felt this way?
And if you have & have overcome it, please comment with tips on how to- so that those of us who are still in the trenches of self-consciousness can join you on the other side. ????
