Burrell was an educator at the Institute of Culinary Education and currently, she is the host of  Secrets of a Restaurant Chef show on the Food Network and co-host of Worst Cooks in America show.

Anne Burrell was born in Cazenovia, New York, in the United States on September 21, 1969.

She is a product of Canisius College where she proudly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and communication.

Burrell also enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America, graduating with an Associate in Occupational Studies. She also studied at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners.
