The World football governing body, Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), has cleared eight Nigerian players who have already represented other countries on international level eligible to play for the Super Eagles.

These players have represented England and Germany at the international level at the youth level. Some have played for the U-17, U-20 and the U-21 level but yet to feature for the senior national teams. However, they declared their willingness and availability to play for the Super Eagles should they receive a call-up.

The Nigeria Football Federation and Federation Internationale de Football Association has reached an agreement and the players have been cleared to play for Nigeria. This makes them available to represent Nigeria in the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup 2022 at Qatar should they qualify.
The players are Ademola Lookman and Tosin Adarabioyo of Fulham, Jordan Torunarigha of Hertha Berlin, Nathan Tella of Southampton, Ovie Ejaria of Reading FC, Noni Madueke of PSV, Sheyi Ojo of Cardiff City, and Ike Ugbo of Cercle Brugge.
