Odion Ighalo joined Manchester United from Shanghai Shenhua in the January transfer window for a season-long loan under the recommendation of Ole Gunnar Solskjear. When Ighalo joined Manchester United on the final day of the January transfer window social media was awash with disparaging comments amid speculations about his age that he was old and out of form.

However, the top attacker silenced his critics as he helped the struggling Manchester United to remain in the league.
Odion Ighalo made eight appearances for United before the 2019/20 season was suspended, scoring four goals in three starts and having a significant impact on the side. This made the club to extend his loan deal to end of the season but with the introduction of Edinson Cavani, the attacker seems to have no chance of extending his stay as both parties say goodbye.
