Taiwo Hassan who is popularly known as Ogogo was born on October 31, 1959, in Ilaro, a town in Ogun state in Southwestern Nigeria.
Taiwo began his elementary education at Christ Church School in Ilaro, Yewaland, and then went ahead to attend a technical college where he trained as an automobile mechanic.
He began acting in 1981 shortly after he got a job at the water corporation as an auto mechanic. Ogogo worked at the water corporation for about 13 years.
Hassan retired from government work to concentrate on his acting career. He is known to have appeared in movies like Obinrin Sowanu, Olokiki Oru: The Midnight Sensation, and L’ako lawa.
