Boitumelo Thulo was born in Potchefstroom, North West of South Africa on April 28, 1990, being the only child of her mother Modiehi Thulo.

Thulo who aspired to become a psychologist and a criminologist had her dreams cut short after she had to drop out of Monash University due to the inability of her mother to pay for her education.

She later applied to a film casting agency and in the process appeared on her first TV commercial for Wimpy, a multinational chain of fast foods in 2010.
