Abba Kyari Biography; Net Worth, Education And Cause Of Death

Abba Kyari was a distinguished lawyer and banker who served as the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari from August 2015 to April 2020.

Early Life And Education

Kyari was born on 23rd September 1952 to the Kanuri family from Borno.

Kyari had his secondary education at St. Paul’s College in Wusasa Zaria. In 1980, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Warwick. In 1984, he obtained a master’s degree in law from the University of Cambridge.

After that, he attended the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland and he participated in the Harvard Business School’s program for Leadership and Development in 1992/94.

Abba Kyari Net Worth

Kyari worked as an editor with the New Africa Holdings Limited and in the 1990’s, served as the commissioner for Forestry and Animal Resources.

Kyari was also the secretary of the board to the African International Bank Limited, a subsidiary of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International.

Kyari has also served as the Executive Director in charge of Management Services at the United Bank for Africa.

His net worth is not known but from the positions he has occupied, it can be realized that Abba Kyari was a very wealthy man.

Cause Of Death

On 24 March 2020, it was publicly announced that Kyari tested positive for COVI-19, following an official trip to Germany nine days before.

On 29 March 2020, Kyari announced that he was being moved from isolation in Abuja to Lagos for “preventive treatment”. However, Kyari later died on the evening of 17 April 2020, at the age of 67 years.
