Despite covid-19 and the death of numerous stars which has made 2020 a year most people will love to forget, it hasn’t been a wholly terrible year for some top African artistes.

These African artistes have been able to achieve an extremely successful 2020 and as the year gradually races to a highly expected end, we take a look at some of them;
Master KG

He did put South Africa on the map, didn’t he? The South African musician got the entire world jamming to his song, Jerusalema. He kept the world dancing despite the crippling effect of the coronavirus. The song was shared by Cristiano Ronaldo on his Instagram story and amassed over 150 million views on YouTube.
Davido

He released FEM after his return from a self-imposed exile from social media. The song became an instant hit and has been used widely in Nigeria and beyond. In fact, FEM was the song which was used to headline the ENDSARS protests in Nigeria. He has performed on The Tonight Show which starred Jimmy Fallon. He also dropped his album, A Better Time this year.

Burna Boy

In August, he dropped his album, Twice As Tall, which has proved to be a highly phenomenal album by all standards. He was also featured on Sam Smith’s hit titled, My Oasis.
‘Twice As Tall’ was nominated under the World Music Album category during the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
Wizkid

He also dropped an album dubbed, ‘Made in Lagos’ this year. The album featured the likes of Ella Mai, Skepta, Damian Marley and others. He also bagged a deal as the brand ambassador for manufacturing giants, PUMA.
