Abiodun Duro-Ladipo is a Nigerian renowned actress and singer of Yoruba fame. She was born into a royal home in Ijan Ekiti in the Ekiti State of Nigeria. Abiodun Duro-Ladipo had a childhood dream of becoming a nurse but upon completion of her education in 1963, she joined the Mbari Mbayo Theatre Group Travel owned by the late Duro Ladipo.

Abiodun Duro-Ladipo became the leader of the women’s group and in 1964, she got engaged to her boss, Duro Ladipo. She gained the popularity with her acting prowess and between 1964 and 1970, she appeared in many international festivals in Europe. After the death of her husband in 1978, she managed the group and raised the standard.

Her contents were mainly for theatre but she was forced to a television show. She also appeared in musical series, Oya Sings in 1979, and Ayelaagbe in 1978. She performed in the London Commonwealth Arts Festival in 1965 and Yoruba Festival in Zurich in 1973.

Acting Career
Before her husband died in 1978, Abiodun Duro-Ladipo performed at the London Commonwealth Arts Festival in 1965, Yoruba Festival in Zurich in 1973, and The Festival Mondial du Theatre de Nancy in 1973. She also appeared in Iran’s Shiraz Arts Festival in Belgrade.
After his death, she appeared in the drama B’Inaku 1981, Oyinbo Ajele in 1986, Esantayen in 1997 and in 2007, she directed a replacement version of Moremi, Moremi Ajasoro.
