Laurene Powell Jobs was born on November 6, 1963 (57 years). She grew up in West Milford, New Jersey. She acquired her B.A. in political science from the University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences and a B.S. degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. She proceeded to acquire an M.B.A. degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1991.

Before acquiring her MBA she worked for Merrill Lynch Asset Management, she also co-founded Terravera, a natural food distribution company in California. She was also a member of the board of directors of Achieva.

In 2017, it was reported that Powell had purchased a 20% stake in the ownership group Monumental Sports & Entertainment that includes the NBA’s Washington Wizards, NHL’s Washington Capitals, and Capital One Arena, making her the second-largest owner of the company.
