Renowned Broadcaster Godwin Avenorgbo passes on

Godwin Avenorgbo, a renowned experienced broadcaster and Director of Communications for the Melcom Group of Companies, has been reported deceased.

His old, long-time employers, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), issued a brief notice of his abrupt death on Facebook late Monday.

The Grand Master, as his peers and mentees affectionately referred to him, was an enthusiastic participant in the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) 75th Anniversary Commemorative Lecture on Thursday, August 15, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

He chaired the Anniversary Planning Committee.

The GBC Facebook post just stated that the ‘Grandmaster’ (Godwin Avenorgbor) had bowed out and wished his ‘soft soul’ a good rest, along with a photo of him in a calm stance.
