Victor Okuley Norteywas a prominent Ghanaian politician and businessman, best known for his service as a member of the Fourth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

Representing the Ablekuma Central constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Nortey was affiliated with the New Patriotic Party.

Nortey’s political career began when he won a seat in Parliament during the 1999 by-election for Ablekuma Central.

He achieved this victory with 4,808 votes, demonstrating early support from his constituency. In the 2004 general elections, Nortey secured re-election with a significant majority, garnering 47,731 votes, which accounted for 50.3% of the total valid votes.

His win was notable in a highly competitive race that included candidates from multiple parties, such as the People’s National Convention, the National Democratic Congress, and the Convention People’s Party.

Nortey was born in 1958 in the Greater Accra Region and had a background in business before entering politics.

Nortey passed away on August 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of public service and dedication to the political landscape of Ghana.
