Jack Russell, the iconic lead singer of the hard rock band Great White, passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 63.

Known for his powerful voice and magnetic stage presence, Russell left an indelible mark on the world of rock and roll.

His family, including his wife Heather Ann and their son Matthew Hucko, were by his side as he battled Lewy body dementia and multiple system atrophy.

Russell’s career with Great White produced unforgettable hits like “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” which contributed to the band’s success and cemented his place in music history.

Despite his declining health, he continued to make music, including the 2017 release of He Saw It Comin’ with Jack Russell’s Great White. In 2021, he paid homage to Led Zeppelin with Great Zeppelin II: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin and a cover of “Whole Lotta Love.”

His final studio recording was a collaboration album titled Medusa, released in January 2024 with L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns.

On July 17, 2024, Russell announced his retirement from touring, revealing his struggle with dementia. Just a month later, the world lost this rock legend. His contributions to music will continue to inspire fans and musicians alike.
