Brighton & Hove Albion have activated the £40 million release clause in French international forward Georginio Rutter’s contract with Leeds United.

Georginio Rutter, who joined Leeds United from Hoffenheim in January 2023, now faces a decision on whether to accept Brighton & Hove Albion’s offer and join them to play in the Premier League.
The move follows Brighton & Hove Albion’s previous unsuccessful bids of £29 million and £35 million just some few days ago.

Georginio Rutter was very instrumental in Leeds United top performance last season leading them to the Championship playoff finals.
He Rutter has four years remaining on his Leeds contract and must decide if he wants to continue in the Championship or take the opportunity to return to Premier League football this season with Brighton.
Despite Leeds United’s efforts to retain him, the activation of the release clause by Brighton & Hove Albion indicates a serious intent to finalize the transfer.
