The Major League Soccer club had been keen on bringing the Paraguay international back to the United States, with the hope of securing a deal before the MLS transfer window closed.

Almiron, who has been a pivotal player for Newcastle since joining from Atlanta United in 2019, was seen as a marquee signing for Charlotte FC.
However, the complexities of the deal, coupled with the looming deadline, made it difficult for all parties to reach a satisfactory conclusion this transfer window.
As a result, Charlotte FC has opted to withdraw from the pursuit, leaving Miguel Almiron to continue his career in the Premier League.
