Ami Yuasa, known mononymously as Ami, is a Japanese breakdancer and Olympic gold medalist.

She has an impressive track record, including victories at the Red Bull BC One world championship in 2018, and the WDSF World Breaking Championships in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
Yuasa is also a member of the Good Foot Crew.
Early Life and Education
Born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, Yuasa graduated from Saitama Prefectural Kawaguchi High School and later earned her degree in English and American Literature from Komazawa University.

Career
Yuasa began learning hip hop in elementary school, influenced by her older sister Ayu, and took up breaking in the fifth grade.

She first gained international recognition in April 2018 by winning the B-Girl World Final of Red Bull BC One in Zurich.
She continued her winning streak by claiming the inaugural WDSF World Breaking Championship in 2019 in Nanjing and the World Urban Championship in Budapest the same year.
In November 2020, she triumphed at the 2nd All Japan Breaking Championship in the Open B-Girl division. Yuasa defended her WDSF World Breaking title in 2021 in Paris.
At the 2022 World Games, she won gold in the B-Girls event and later that year secured her second WDSF World Breaking Championship title in Seoul.
Yuasa represented Japan at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where she clinched the gold medal in breaking.
