The LAPD revealed that Olds was charged in late July, and a warrant for his arrest was issued, with bail set at $3.5 million. On August 7, Olds was taken into custody and booked on the charges. The investigation has so far identified three women who have accused Olds of sexual assault, with two additional women reporting lesser incidents of sexual misconduct.

Detective Brent Hopkins, who oversees the LAPD’s Special Assault Section, provided insights into Olds’ alleged crimes. He explained that a recurring pattern emerged from the victims’ accounts.

Olds, initially appearing charming, allegedly used his position to build trust with the women before violently assaulting them. Hopkins emphasized that some victims endured their trauma in silence for years before finally coming forward.

Hopkins encouraged other potential victims to share their stories, stating that now that Olds is off the streets, it’s important for all voices to be heard. The LAPD is actively seeking additional witnesses or victims who might have information related to Olds’ alleged actions.

The investigation into Olds’ activities has uncovered troubling details about how he used his acting career and educational background to gain the trust of his victims.

The victims described how Olds would leverage his success as a Yale graduate and actor to create a false sense of security before becoming violent. This behavior reportedly spanned several years, with incidents dating back to 2013 and as recently as January 2023.

Throughout his acting career, Olds played various roles in both television and film. Some of his recent appearances include FBI: International, Amazing Stories, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye. His career also included roles in the NCIS franchise and other popular shows.

As the investigation continues, the LAPD is working to obtain more evidence, including search warrants for Olds’ social media and dating app accounts. Authorities believe there may be more victims who have not yet come forward.

Olds has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The situation regarding his legal representation is currently unclear. The LAPD urges anyone with information related to the case to contact Detective Brent Hopkins at the provided contact details.
