Instead, the role she declined was for a film directed by Frank Fiifi Gharbin.

In an exclusive interview with Prince Benjamin on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital, Martha explained that two years ago, Gharbin approached her about working together.

She clarified that this project was separate from A Country Called Ghana. Martha said there was confusion as some people thought she had rejected a role in that specific film, which she did not.

Martha mentioned that Gharbin’s proposed film was about a couple but did not provide further details. She explained that her primary issue was with the film’s storyline involving spirits, which she found uninteresting.

Martha noted that she was not familiar with Gharbin or his work in Kumawood before this interaction.

She added that Gharbin did not provide a script but instead narrated the story. When she inquired about other actors involved, Gharbin mentioned someone she had not seen in Kumawood films, which contributed to her lack of awareness that it was a Kumawood project.

Martha and Gharbin agreed to collaborate on a future film project, but they have not been in contact since then.
