Courtney Wayment-Smith was born on August 4, 1998, in the United States of America. Courtney Wayment is 26 years old as of 2024. In high school, she was recognized as Gatorade Player of the Year and won three UHSAA state championships.

Courtney attended Davis High School, where she was nominated as Gatorade Player of the Year for Utah Women’s Cross Country. Initially a soccer player, she transitioned to running in junior high.

Her talent was evident when she ran a mile in 5:48 in P.E. class. Encouraged by her father, a collegiate All-American steeplechaser, she pursued running seriously.

Courtney turned professional in 2022, continuing her success by winning the women’s steeplechase at the NCAA Track and Field Championships with a time of 9:16. She broke her own school record, the collegiate record, and the meet record, becoming the fifth-fastest steeplechaser in U.S. history.
