Early Years and Development

Initially, Pickett committed to Temple University but ultimately chose to play for the Panthers.

He began his college career in 2017 as a backup, learning the ropes behind established quarterbacks Max Browne and Ben DiNucci.

His first notable performance came in a 2017 upset victory against the No. 2 Miami Hurricanes, where he showcased his potential by contributing to all three touchdowns in a 24-14 win.

As a full-time starter in 2018, Pickett led the Panthers to their first-ever ACC Coastal Division Championship.

Over the next few seasons, he continued to develop his skills, culminating in a breakout senior year in 2021.

That season, he threw for a remarkable 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns, setting school records for both categories.

His performance not only secured the ACC Championship for Pittsburgh but also earned him recognition as a first-team All-American and the ACC Athlete of the Year.

Throughout his college career, Pickett played in 52 games, starting 49, and finished with an impressive 12,303 passing yards81 touchdown passes, and 809 rushing yards.

His ability to perform under pressure was evident as he led his team to significant victories, including a memorable win against Wake Forest in the ACC Championship game.

Academic Accomplishments

In addition to his athletic prowess, Pickett excelled academically. He graduated with a degree in marketing from the University of Pittsburgh and continued his education by enrolling in the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business for his master’s degree.
