Former USC football wide receiver Jordan Addison, now with the Minnesota Vikings, is facing significant legal and professional challenges following a DUI charge in July.

Addison was found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle, blocking a lane of traffic on Interstate 105 in Los Angeles.

Authorities allege he was driving under the influence of alcohol, with a blood-alcohol level of .08%. His arraignment and plea hearing are scheduled for October 7.

The NFL’s policy on first-offense DUIs could result in a three-game suspension for Addison. Additionally, he faces up to six months in jail due to being charged with two misdemeanors.

“Whatever’s out there for me, whatever comes with it, I’ll own up to everything. I feel like anything that comes my way is meant to happen or is deserved,” Addison commented during the Vikings training camp.

This incident is not Addison’s first legal trouble. In July 2023, he was cited for speeding and reckless driving in Minnesota, where he was caught driving 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Although not arrested, Addison pleaded guilty, paid a fine, and had his driver’s license revoked for six months.

The No. 23 overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Addison had a stellar rookie season with the Vikings, catching 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.

His performance set high expectations for his second year in the league. However, this off-field incident could significantly impact his availability for part of the season.

“I’m just going to keep learning,” Addison said last month. “I’m saying that’s all I can do, is just learn from my mistakes and keep moving forward. That’s what it is.”
