Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her husband M. A. Wazed Miah have a son, Sajeeb Wazed, and a daughter, Saima Wazed.

Meet Sajeeb Wazed
Sajeeb Wazed, the son of Sheikh Hasina and M. A. Wazed Miah, is a prominent businessman and politician.
He is a member of the Bangladesh Awami League and served as an advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on information and communication technology.
Born on July 27, 1971, in Dhaka during the Bangladesh Liberation War, Wazed and his family were in West Germany when his grandparents and uncles were assassinated during a military coup in August 1975.
The family returned to Bangladesh in 1981 after being barred from the country by the military regime. Wazed attended boarding schools in India, including St. Joseph’s College in Nainital and Kodaikanal International School.
He completed his undergraduate studies in computer engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington and earned a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
Wazed is the President of Wazed Consulting Inc. in the US and is credited with spearheading the Digital Bangladesh initiative and promoting the Vision 2021 manifesto of the Awami League.
He was recognized by the World Economic Forum as one of its Young Global Leaders.

While he has been influential in promoting Bangladesh’s IT industry, his career has not been without controversy, including conflicts with media figures and public figures, and accusations of not adequately addressing issues related to Islamic extremism.

Meet Saima Wazed
Saima Wazed, Sheikh Hasina’s daughter, is currently the South East Asian Regional Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) as of November 1, 2023.
Wazed was born to Sheikh Hasina and M. A. Wazed Miah, and her brother is Sajeeb Wazed Joy. She graduated from Barry University and is a licensed school psychologist.
Wazed is an advocate for autism and neurodevelopmental disorders. She organized the first South Asian conference on Autism in Dhaka in 2011 and chairs the National Advisory Committee on Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
Her advocacy efforts include campaigning for the “Comprehensive and Coordinated Efforts for the Management of Autism Spectrum Disorders” resolution at the World Health Assembly.
Wazed has received several accolades, including the WHO South-East Asia Region Award for Excellence in Public Health and the International Champion Award for her work in autism.
Saima Wazed was married to Khandakar Masrur Hossain Mitu, and the couple has four children.
