The midfield has been particularly affected, with key players Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Pedri sidelined. Additionally, Oriol Romeu has also been sent on a season-long loan to Girona.

However, there is positive news regarding Pedri’s recovery.

Pedri, who suffered an internal lateral sprain during Spain’s EURO 2024 match against Germany, is in the final stages of his recovery.

Pedri has returned to training on the grass and is expected to be back in action by the end of August.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pedri is working diligently to be fit for Barcelona’s La Liga opener against Valencia on August 17th.

While Pedri’s availability for the match against Valencia is promising, it is uncertain if he will play, as Hansi Flick may take a cautious approach given Pedri’s recent injury history.
