Financial reports show that Rupert’s fortune has risen to $13.65 billion, elevating him to the 154th position on the global wealth rankings.
As of August 2, 2024, Dangote’s wealth stands at $13.6 billion, placing him just behind Rupert at the 156th spot. Rupert’s net worth increased by $1.21 billion from January to August 2024, while Dangote’s wealth declined significantly due to the devaluation of the Naira.
Rupert’s wealth is largely derived from his stake in Cie Financière Richemont, a leading global luxury goods company known for its high-end watches.

In addition to his role as chairman of Richemont and Remgro, Rupert has been the CEO of Richemont since April 2010. He and his family were recognized as the wealthiest in South Africa on Forbes’ 2023 list.
In contrast, Dangote’s wealth primarily comes from his 86% ownership in Dangote Cement, a company listed on the stock exchange.
Beyond his business success, Rupert is also noted for his environmental efforts. He is dedicated to conservation, having protected about 25,000 hectares in the Graaff Reinet region, and serves as the Chairman of the Peace Parks Foundation.
