Timothy Darrell Russ, born on June 22, 1956, is a multi-talented American actor, musician, screenwriter, director, and amateur astronomer.

Best known for his role as Lieutenant Commander Tuvok on Star Trek: Voyager, Russ has made significant contributions to the Star Trek franchise and beyond.

Tim Russ is a versatile actor who has portrayed several characters within the Star Trek universe. Before landing his iconic role as Tuvok, Russ had auditioned for the part of Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987.

1. Devor: In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Starship Mine” (1993), Russ played Devor, a mercenary disguised as a service engineer.
2. T’Kar: He appeared as the Klingon T’Kar in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Invasive Procedures” (1993).
3. Human Tactical Lieutenant: Russ portrayed a human tactical officer on the USS Enterprise-B in the film Star Trek Generations (1994).
4. Mirror Universe Tuvok: He reprised his role as Tuvok, but as a member of the Terran Resistance in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Through the Looking Glass” (1995).
5. Changeling Tuvok: In Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Russ appeared as a changeling impersonating Tuvok.
Beyond acting, Russ has also contributed to the Star Trek universe as a voice actor in video games, a writer, and a director. He co-wrote stories for the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine comics and directed fan series like Star Trek: Of Gods and Men and Star Trek: Renegades.
On his latest mission, he’s helping detect asteroids for NASA. Russ and five other citizen astronomers contributed to the detection of the asteroid 617 Patroclus for NASA’s Lucy probe.
