Ghanaian journalist Nana Aba Anamoah has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to address the spread of false information disseminated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against former President John Dramani Mahama.

In a video posted on her X account, President Akufo-Addo reflected on his own experiences with false allegations, including claims of drug trafficking and the murder of his ex-wife.
He criticized these stories as part of a broader strategy by opposition groups to discredit him and undermine his leadership before and after the 2008 general elections.

Nana Aba Anamoah responded by challenging the President to acknowledge similar tactics reportedly used by his own party against Mahama.

In her tweet, she pointed out, “The President just detailed how fake, scandalous stories were shared about him in previous & upcoming elections by the opposition. It would have been nice to add how his party’s machinery also widely spreads wild false stories about John Mahama. That’s fair.”
