Aba Hamadeh is an Arab-American attorney who has made headlines by receiving an early endorsement from former President Donald Trump in his bid for Congress.

Hamadeh, who is of Syrian descent, won the Republican nomination for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. Early results indicate that he is leading his competitors by a significant margin.

His main rivals include venture capitalist Blake Masters, Arizona House Speaker Ben Toma, former U.S. Rep. Trent Franks, and State Sen. Anthony Kern, all of whom are trailing behind.

Despite his current focus on the Congressional race, Hamadeh has continued to challenge the results of the 2022 Arizona attorney general race, which was one of the closest elections in the state’s history.

On the campaign trail, Hamadeh has emphasized traditional GOP stances on issues like immigration and inflation from the pandemic, and he has supported Trump’s view that abortion decisions should be made at the state level.

Given the strong Republican lean of the district, Hamadeh is expected to win in the November general election and potentially hold the seat for an extended period.

While his political style has been polarizing and he has attracted both praise and criticism, his deep understanding of the Middle East, gained through personal and professional experiences, is seen as a significant asset in this contentious congressional race.
