Adut Akech, the South Sudanese-Australian supermodel, has announced that she is pregnant with her first child. The 24-year-old model, who was previously in a relationship with Nigerian singer Runtown, is expecting the baby with her longtime partner, Samuel Elkhier.

Adut Akech confirmed the news to Vogue this week, showcasing her baby bump in a stunning photo spread. Adut expressed her joy on Instagram, saying she feels “beyond blessed” and “cannot wait to meet our bundle of joy.”
She shared that she has always wanted to be a young mom and recounted the moment she realized she was pregnant. It all began with an intense and unusual craving for oranges, followed by her first experience of morning sickness.
“I was picking up my car from the service center — with my bag of oranges! — and when driving back home, I started feeling like I was going to throw up,” Adut recalled.

Adut Akech also had strange dreams about her sister being pregnant, which prompted her to take a pregnancy test. After taking five tests, all of which were positive, she confirmed her pregnancy.
Adut is thrilled to become a young mom and eagerly awaits her baby’s arrival. “I always said I wanted to be a young mom because I love the idea of growing up with your kids. I’m excited. I can’t wait. I’m like—can they just come already?” she shared. Despite being only halfway through her pregnancy, she is already eager to meet her baby.
However, Adut admitted that her pregnancy has been a “mental and physical rollercoaster” but still describes it as a “beautiful feeling.” “Nothing really ever prepares you for it,” she added.
Reflecting on her experience, she humorously remarked, “I’m just waddling around like, ‘What the f**k is this? What is this?’ Women … we’re built different, honestly. I don’t think men could ever.”
