Girona forward Artem Dovbyk has agreed on personal terms with Italian team AS Roma, despite previous interest from Spanish powerhouse Atletico Madrid.

Although Atletico Madrid was initially seen as a potential destination, the move did not materialize unfortunately for them.
Reports suggest that issues over commission demands and project seriousness contributed to the breakdown of the deal.

Artem Dovbyk’s agent publicly criticized Atletico Madrid’s project, claiming that the transfer was being used as leverage, which led to tensions between the parties.
According to Fabrizio Romano, AS Roma and Dovbyk have settled on terms, and discussions with Girona are also almost done.
AS Roma is prepared to offer over €30 million as a starting bid for Artem Dovbyk this summer and the fee is in the region expected by Girona.
Artem Dovbyk will provide AS Roma with a great attacking potency and gear them up to compete in the Italian Serie A next season.
