Decision Made On Joe Gomez Liverpool Transfer

Joe Gomez’s future at Liverpool is uncertain after a potential move to Newcastle fell through in a few weeks.

The Reds had agreed in principle to a £45 million deal for Gomez, which would have included Anthony Gordon moving to Anfield for £75 million.

However, Newcastle United decided to abandon the transfer, seeking other options to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules before the June 30 deadline.

Joe Gomez, who is currently with England at Euro 2024 and has not yet joined Liverpool’s pre-season squad, is aware of the situation and is expected to return to training at the AXA Training Centre next week.

Despite the collapse of the Newcastle deal, interest in Gomez remains, but Liverpool has yet to receive another official offer.

Joe Gomez is currently Liverpool’s longest-serving player since joining from Charlton nine years ago and he had a strong season last year despite limited starts in his preferred centre-back role.
