Renowned American musician Arthur Miles passed away on July 31, 2024, at 74.

Although his roots were in the United States, Miles had made Italy his home for many years. His family reported his death but did not reveal the cause.

Miles was a significant figure in blues, jazz, and R&B, known for his unique mix of traditional and modern sounds. His soulful voice and exceptional talent earned him a devoted following in both Europe and the U.S.

In Italy, where he made a notable impact, Miles worked with many local artists and contributed greatly to the country’s music scene.

He was known for his collaborations with Paolo Conte, Loredana Bertè, Pierangelo Bertoli, and Andrea Mingardi, and participated in major festivals like Carnevale di Venezia and Umbria Jazz Festival.

He also appeared on various Italian TV shows, including Festivalbar and Domenica In.

Miles toured Italy with Gloria Gaynor in 1990 and re-recorded hits such as “I Will Survive” with her.

His musical involvement extended to working with Zucchero, featuring on several of his albums like “Blue’s” and “Oro incenso e birra,” and contributing to hits such as “Senza una donna” and “Baila.”

His recent work included appearances on Zucchero’s 2006 LP “Fly” and the 2016 album “Black Cat.”

Miles lived in Orsenigo, Como, and was actively involved in music until his passing. His loss is deeply felt by fans and fellow musicians around the world.
